FAQ's

1. What Family members are covered? - The union member and spouse/partner plus all of their unmarried dependant children aged under 19 years at the inception of the inception of the insurance (or under 23 if in full-time education) while travelling with the member and/or spouse/partner. Children 17 yrs and under are traveling alone once trip is no longer than 30 days.

2. What defines a partner? - A male/female companion of the insured ,who has been living with the insured for the past 6 months or more.

3. Is there a restriction on the number of children?  - No.

4. Is the cover worldwide? -  Yes, includes USA, and Canada.

5.  Are business trips covered? - Yes (Purely non-manual business trips are covered).

6. I have a pre-existing medical condition. Does this affect my medical cover? - The Insurers shall not be liable for expenses arising from any pre-existing defect, infirmity or condition for which you are receiving regular medical treatment, advice or consultation at the time of effecting this insurance or at the commencement date of the Covered Trip, whichever is the later.

7. Does the travel policy provide medical cover during pregnancy? - The Underwriters shall not be liable for claims resulting from childbirth. Cost incurred in the treatment of complications or abnormalities during pregnancy are covered, apart from those occurring after the seventh month of pregnancy. In any case, pregnant women should obtain a letter confirming their fitness to travel from a registered qualified medical practitioner.

8. If something is stolen from me while on holiday, what should I do?  - File a police report within 24 hours. Also report the theft to your travel rep., if applicable. Retain copies of all reports and phone the designated loss adjuster for a claim form on your return from holidays.
